Dan Achen, Shine

I heard this tune for the first time at Dan’s funeral. It touched me then but now discovering this version with the clip I am totally inspired. I have gone through a few phases of grief since the passing of Dan including denial, anger . . . This morning I began a conversation with Dan. It is sort of like a prayer but I talk out load and discuss my thoughts about the future (without him). I remain somewhat serene and peaceful with the idea that he is right there listening to my “prayers” without judging me or anything. I told Dan that I was going to transform “his loss” (the loss of him in my life), into “my gain”. He’s OK with the idea of taking me under his wing and accompaning me as I move forward with those musical projects/dreams I had started telling him about. So this beautiful song SHINE represents for me Dan’s guidance, Dan’s light . . .
